SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow sat down with Brad Vivacqua to discuss how the city of Oswego is trying to help our veterans return to civilian life. He says that much of that transition relies on finding a good job. There is a new partnership with the United States Army to guarantee veterans who apply for a job with the city at least an interview. The city believes it should give preference to those who have served. The PaYs program ensures military members, who might otherwise get filtered out in the recruitment process, an opportunity to show off their skills and their caliber of discipline learned in the service. Barlow calls it a win-win for both the city and service members.
