Despite many vacations being put on hold, short-term rentals in Upstate New York are booming.

Scenic areas of the Thousand Islands, Finger Lakes and Adirondacks are popular getaways.

With many people still working from home, some are choosing to work from a beautiful waterfront after being trapped inside for months.

Real estate experts said the market is overwhelmed right now, and it has left a limited inventory online.

If you're looking for a quick getaway, here is a few suggestions.

"Don't just look on VRBO. Contact a real estate agent," said real estate broker Michael DeRosa. "There's a lot of homes that are available...So it doesn't just have to be a house that's for rent. It could be on the market and you make an offer to rent this season."

Experts said people should be flexible with the dates they want to rent and that should increase your options.
