Two arrests have been made in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old in Syracuse.

Police say 16-year-old Antonio Gullotto was shot in the upper body around 10:30 p.m. Monday at 165 John Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wednesday, Syracuse Police arrested Nashwan Hamood, 30, and Amir Homran, 20, of Syracuse. They have been charged with second degree murder and second degree criminal possession of a weapon. Both are being held in the Onondaga County Justice Center.

Homran has pleaded not guilty. He is scheduled to be back in court December 24.

The arrests came after police detectives interviewed numerous people, viewed video surveillance and executed search warrants.

The area is familiar to this kind of violence; 12-year-old James Springer was shot to death in the same house in October.

Gullotto was a student at Henninger High School.

The investigation is very active and still ongoing. If you have any information on the shooting, police ask that you call the department at (315) 442-5222. All calls will be kept confidential.
