SPENCERPORT, N.Y. — The Erie Canal lift bridge in Spencerport will be back open to vehicles Friday evening.
It's been over a year since the bridge closed in July 2019 for repairs as a part of the canal's rehabilitation project to restore and preserve the canal structures.
It underwent replacement of the flooring system and updates to the lifting mechanisms and control tower.
The lift bridge was constructed in 1914 and carries State Route 259 over the canal to the Villlage of Spencerport.
