ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Family and friends gathered at St. Michael’s Church Monday for the funeral services of Amir Pallet.

The 3-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Lyell Avenue on June 2

The driver charged in the crash, 48-year-old Frank Cassata, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including murder, manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and DWI.

“This happened right across the street from me on Lyell Avenue and it’s very tragic,” said neighbor John Lippa. “I saw him many times and he was a nice little boy. We’re all grieving on Lyell Avenue.”

The service was open to the public and attracted a large number of people who showed up to remember the young boy and pay their respects.

“He will be remembered immensely,” said Lippa.
