It's just less than two months until the best golfers in the world, along with tens of thousands of fans, will descend upon Oak Hill Country Club for the 105th PGA Championship.

This will be the first time the championship is being held in Rochester in the month of May. The change came in 2019 in an attempt to improve ratings and not clash with the Olympics every four years.

Chief Championship Officer Kerry Haigh says so far the change has been positive, however, it does present challenges, including the weather, which ranges from damp and cold to summer-like conditions that time of year.

Despite that, Haigh says the membership at Oak Hill has done an excellent job to prepare the course — something that started late last year.

"I couldn't be more excited," said Haigh. "Every time I walk around here, especially with the changes, it is even more exciting and I can't wait for the championship to start and the best players in the world to come and be challenged by, sort of, the new Oak Hill. It's going to be great."

Some changes to the course this year include bigger greens and fewer trees compared to the last time the tournament was held at Oak Hill in 2013.

Haigh says this will likely mean more birdies for the fans to cheer for.
