Sahlen Field is getting a little brighter and one step closer to becoming an MLB-caliber ball park.

Crews were seen Wednesday installing new lights at Sahlen Field, giving the ball park a facelift as the Toronto Blue Jays will soon call Buffalo home for the season.

The Blue Jays confirmed last week the team will play this season in the Queen City after being denied by the Canadian government to play in Toronto over ongoing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

The home of the Bisons wasn't the team's first choice but plans to play in Pittsburgh and Baltimore at major-league ballparks fell apart.

The team originally had concerns about space and lighting at Buffalo's ballpark, but work is underway to address those issues.

Sources tell Spectrum News Sahlen Field needs better outfield lighting, bigger dugouts to help socially distance, and more to meet MLB standards.
