Edison Tech grad Dyaisha Fair exceeded expectations for the University at Buffalo women's basketball team this season. The guard led the Bulls in scoring, and was named Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year.

“It meant a lot and it's just makes me think about all the time I put in, trying to get better and better, working towards being the best player that I can be and that I will be, it's just great,” said Fair.

Fair finished the season ranked fourth nationally in scoring. Despite the success, she knows there's plenty to improve on.

“They want me to work shooting the ball from long range and getting it to where there's another thing that I can do, not only can I shoot it mid-range, not only can I drive to the basket, not only can I stop and pop anywhere on the court but having a consistent three-point shot is what they want me to do, so, working on that is the big thing they want me working on for next season,” said Fair.

UB head coach Felisha Legette-Jack envisions even more success for Fair.

“There's no cap on how good – I mean she does things that I have never seen. If Dyaisha's trajectory continues the way it and her humility stays the way it is there's no second guessing the fact that she can be an All-American,” said Legette-Jack.

Fair is grateful to play the game she loves so close to home.

“I've had this support system every step of the way. At the end I made the best decision and I did it for me and I did it for my family,” said Fair.
