Players often refer to their team as family. For Schroeder, the term takes on a literal meaning.
The Warriors feature a set of triplets. It's no surprise that seniors Kara, Lindsey and Katelyn Reiger share the same mindset on the pitch.
"Oh, yeah 100 percent. We do through balls to each other, we just already know, she's making that run and I know I can pass it to either one, it's great," Kara said.
Lindsey said the sisters are competitive during practice.
“We always are pushing each other to do better and of course I think it's actually been really helpful, because we play on the same team, so it pushes us to be at the practices, so we don't miss much," Lindsey said.
"It's been really fun because I always have a built in best friend. If something is wrong at school I know there's someone I can always go to,” Katelyn said. “I think it's so fun."
Webster Schroeder senior Anna Hewlett grew up with the triplets, and said they are unique in their own way, off and on the pitch.
"Soccer is the best thing that's happened to all of us. We connect through it," Kara said.
The trio may be going in different directions after graduation, so they’re making the most of their last season together.
“I can't even imagine playing soccer without at least one of them because we've always done it,” Katelyn said. “Right now we're just trying to take it one game at a time."
The Warriors face Penfield in the Class AAA final on Saturday.
