An arrangement between Rush-Henrietta and the Rochester City Schools will allow RCSD students the chance to play Varisty Ice Hockey.

Three players participated in tryouts for the Roay Comet's Varisty squad. School of the Arts students Josiah Bertou, and World of Inquiry Senior Matt Alberts, all grew up playing hockey in house and travel leagues.

"Varsity is a lot more fast paced than house is, house is just like 'you know what, go out and have fun,' said Alberts. "This is for a Section V title and hopefully we can bring the section title home this year."

All three athletes realize that it's a chance to grow the sport they love.

"I would love to be able to see a team that's all city and more city kids coming to play hockey at a higher level. I'd love to see that and just know that I kind of lead that and got this thing open," said Bertou.
