Honeoye Falls-Lima handed Greece Arcadia their first loss of the season, 26-14. The Cougars have now won five straight games.

HFL had a near perfect first half, starting with their opening drive. Peter Romig ran one in to put the Cougars ahead 6-0.

The homestanding Cougars took it from there. Spectrum Sports Player of the Game Mason Ferrara had a long reception to set up a score, then added to HFL's lead with a rushing touchdown of his own. The junior finished with 164 all-purpose yards on 22 touches.

HFL head coach John Russ said the Cougars prepared for Arcadia's athletic assets and maintained them in the first half.

"I told the guys all week, you have to do what you're coached to do," Russ said. "Especially playing a team like this that's as athletic as they are, if you try to do your own thing, that's when they're going to hurt you. But when the kids were fundamentally sound, we found a lot of success."

A few slip-ups by the Cougars allowed Arcadia to put themselves back in it in the second half. Brian Shonitsky found Shakim Harris for the Titan's first score. Shonitsky also hooked up with K'myn Crumity for another Arcadia touchdown.

There were a lot of penalties on both sides, but the Titans really took the brunt of it. Arcadia finished with 12 flags totaling 95 yards.

Both teams now sit at 5-1 records, still poised for high sectional seeds in their respective classes.

Honeoye Falls-Lima has the chance to improve even further in the Class B standings when they host University Prep next Saturday.

Arcadia returns to Class A to face Eastridge on the road Friday night.

Our Spectrum Game of the Week will feature 2-4 Brighton at 5-1 Hilton.
