Each week during Friday Night Matchup, Spectrum News will celebrate some of the top student-athletes that Section V has to offer. This week’s pick just so happens to be a member of Victor’s Varsity Football team, senior Justin Bai-Rossi. He represents everything a student-athlete should strive to be.

School leaders describe the two-year starter as an excellent student. While taking some of the toughest courses offered and carrying a 95.16 GPA, he hasn’t missed a practice, off-season work or game in two years.

They say Justin is soft-spoken, but leads by example. In all six semesters of high school he’s been on the High Honor Roll. But academics and playing sports is not the only thing that keeps him busy. Justin also volunteers with the Youth Football Program, mentoring and motivating the young players. The school says his enthusiasm is contagious and the players gravitate towards him.

Justin will receive a $1,000 scholarship going to the college of his choice.
