ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Dozens showed up for a vigil to celebrate the life of 25-year-old Aszia Grimes.

Her body was found on Orchard Street on Saturday

Police say it was a homicide.

Elston, Aszia's father, is thankful so many people came out to show their support for his family during this trying time, but he's hoping he can find some answers.

"There is somebody else who knows what happened here and they need to speak about that too as well so she's not going to go away. I mean she's always going to live within me so I'm hoping somebody will standup here and tell me exactly what happened." said Elston.

Police aren't releasing details about Aszia's manner of death and they're asking for anyone who knows anything to reach out to officers.

Elston says he will not rest until he finds out who killed her.

"I'll tell you that now. I'll work but seeing that I don't have her anymore. I just keep running the street and doing whatever I got to do and make sure this person goes to jail. He's going to jail there's no doubt."

For now, Elston will remember his daughter as someone who loved everyone and tried to be a voice of reason.

"We wanted to make sure that Aszia knew that we loved here and we love her no matter what. Whether she is on drugs or whatever she is doing, it doesn't matter. We still love you." said Elston.
