Crowds have gathered in Downtown Rochester for the 12th straight night of protests since the death of Daniel Prude was made public

This also begins a new week of protests.

Last week brought several changes for many in the Rochester Police Department, as Chief La'Ron Singletary and others command staff announced their retirements. Rochester City Council is also considering the repeal of funding for a new police substation.

Protesters continue to call for the resignation of Mayor Lovely Warren and Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley, the arrest and prosecution of the officers involved in the arrest of Daniel Prude, and the passage of Daniel's Law, which would have mental health professionals respond to mental health calls instead of police.
