In the village of Victor, organizers of Black Lives Matter believe they were successful in bringing together what they call one of the most white privileged communities beyond Monroe County.

"Hands Across Victor," was held on Saturday, a rally that drew hundreds to Victor's sidewalks.

"It makes me feel really proud such a white community like this can stand up and realize we do have a privilege and there's a need for change," Victor resident Hannah Flick said.

"Every life matters, said Patt Dinadio of Farmington. "Black, white, Spanish. Every life matters."

"I'm very happy what a primarily white community can bring," said Chris Varone, another Victor resident.

"It's not just a black or Hispanic or Latina matter, said organizer Jen Arena. "It's a humanity issue. And it needs to be solved."

Some merchants in the village were concerned about the event and were concerned about what might come after.

"You don't see that," Morgan Reese said. "I've grown up in a predominantly white community. When you see them come together. It's so beautiful."

Some merchants in the village where concerned about the event and were concerned about what might come after.

"We've had no problems," said Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson. "They want a peaceful way to have their message be heard."

The sheriff took care of traffic and his deputies, stood by, as Main Street filled with chants, and hope for racial equality.
