A former attorney and East Rochester town justice has pleaded guilty to grand larceny charges.

Terrence Brown-Steiner will be sentenced in March to five years probation and ordered to pay restitution of nearly $269,000. The Monroe County District Attorney's Office says its investigation concluded Brown-Steiner stole money from the clients of his legal practice over several years.

Before his plea, Brown-Steiner was disbarred and resigned from his position as East Rochester Town Justice.

District Attorney Sandra Doorley issued a statement saying in part, "The investigation and prosecution of former Judge Terrance Brown-Stein proves that nobody is above the law...any type of theft is wrong, especially when taking advantage of one's trusted clients."
