President Donald Trump tweeted on Tuesday referencing the retirements of Rochester Police Chief La'Ron Singletary, and other command staff.

Trump said that New York State was "a mess," and that the Democratic leadership of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and Governor Andrew Cuomo have "no idea what to do."

The retirements come less than a week after police video was released showing the arrest of Daniel Prude in Rochester in March, who later died in police custody.

While Warren announced the suspension of seven Rochester officers involved in Prude's arrest last Thursday, and said that she had reprimanded Singletary, but had said that she would not replace him as chief. She said on Tuesday that Singletary "didn't in any way try to cover this up."
