Democratic district attorney candidate Mimi Rocah on Saturday is releasing her first TV ad of her bid against incumbent Westchester County DA Tony Scarpino.

The ad features Rocah discussing, in personal times, why she became a prosecutor.

“Part of what inspired me to become a prosecutor - I found out that someone very close to me been the victim of a violent sexual assault," she says in the 30-second campaign spot.

"I wanted to stand up for victims. I spent 16 years going after corrupt politicians, mobsters, illegal gun dealers, and sex traffickers. When Trump was elected, I knew I had to speak out against him. I’m Mimi Rocah and I’m running for District Attorney to make our criminal justice system fairer and stronger for everyone."

Rocah, a former federal prosecutor, is making her first run for elective office. The primary is June 23.
