Police have identified the woman killed in a jet ski accident on Lake Ontario Saturday night.
At around 7:15 p.m., the Monroe County Sheriff's Marine Unit, along with several fire departments and the U.S. Coast Guard, responded to a call of a capsized jet ski with two riders just west of the Irondequoit Bay Inlet.
First responders were quickly able to locate the jet ski and a man who had been riding it. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Coast Guard was able to find the woman rider a short time later, who was later identified as Melanie Ramos-Lopez, 31, of Rochester. She was also taken to Strong where she was pronounced dead.
Officials are still investigating but believe rough water was a factor in the accident.
