CHILI, N.Y. — The pandemic has altered the way we celebrate holidays and this Veterans Day is no different.

That’s not stopping the town of Chili from making sure the men and women who served our country are honored.

Town Supervisor David Dunning says the town saw others doing reverse parades for birthdays and graduations.

This year, veterans gathered at certain locations for coffee and donuts and the town came to them to thank them for their service.

“We’re here because of our veterans, and it is because of our veterans who went out there and fought and died for us,” Dunning said.

Those involved in the reverse parade were escorted around by State Police and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
