ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester City School District offered vaccine clinics for students, families and staff on Wednesday.

The district held two clinics, one at the Jefferson Campus and the other at the Franklin Campus.

“We want to make sure we make the vaccine accessible to all of our families,” RCSD Coordinator of Student Health Services Erin Graupman. “We know some families are more comfortable coming into the school setting to get the vaccine because its people they know and are comfortable with. We have asked our school nurses and administration to offer education for our families. So we do have opportunities for families to discuss concerns with physicians in the area. We think it is important to have an open discussion to make sure everyone is comfortable getting the vaccine.”

Starting next week, Walgreens will be going into schools that do not have a school-based health center to offer the vaccine to students, faculty and staff.
