The tallest building in Rochester has a new owner.

Gallina Development announced it has purchased the former Xerox Tower on South Clinton Avenue. The acquisition is for a full city block.

Not only does that mean the 30-story tower, but also a 350-vehicle parking garage, an auditorium, and two other free-standing buildings as well.

Gallina says it'll have details on a more comprehensive redevelopment plan in the near future.

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bob Duffy says this purchase is the start of a new chapter for the iconic building.

"The Xerox Tower is among Rochester’s most iconic buildings, and has been one of our city’s greatest opportunities since becoming vacant in 2018. There is no doubt that Gallina's acquisition of this property will be the start of a new chapter for this outstanding space, and I have every confidence that Andy’s leadership will breathe new life into our downtown. Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce thanks Gallina for their continued investment in our region, and stands ready to assist as they embark on this exciting project."
