The City of Good Neighbors strikes again.

In addition to prepping for the playoffs, Western New Yorkers are also stepping up to prove a Baltimore radio host wrong.

Jerry Coleman referred to Buffalo as the "city of losers."

The founder of Bills Mafia and owner of 26Shirts, Del Reid, is at the center of the social media attention.

Reid said instead of getting even for the comment, one of his Twitter followers came up with the idea to give back instead.

"We have given back to different charities associated with the cities who have talked smack about the city or the team or whatever,” Reid said. “A fellow Bills fan, one of my followers, had the idea to donate to the Alzheimer's Association because this radio host pinned to the top of his twitter feed was about his mom and Alzheimer's and stuff like that."

Spectrum News spoke with Coleman on Friday to get his reaction to the donations.

"What they did was remarkable. Believe me, it blew me away. And as I said on the radio this morning, it's not going to save my mom's life, but it is going to save countless lives down the line in countless generations,” said Coleman.

Coleman stands by what he says was his sports assessment of Buffalo teams as statistical losers, but he did say he hopes Buffalo wins this weekend so they end up playing in Baltimore the following week.

It's also not the first time this has happened.

Bills fans donated thousands of dollars to a hospital in Nashville after stories of Titans fans paying Twitter bots to bash Buffalo during a fan popularity contest last year.
