The two homicide suspects who escaped police during transport from Rochester to Arizona have been captured.

The pair, Blane and Susan Barksdale, spent most of the summer at the Monroe County Jail and were included on the U.S. Marshal’s 15 Most Wanted list.

The Barksdales were on the run for more than two weeks after escaping custody in Utah while en route to Arizona. Marshals said the couple faked a medical emergency and overpowered security guards.

Authorities believe they had help from Blane Barksdale’s ties to white supremacist gangs along the way.

The couple was originally arrested in May after they were found hiding in an RV in a Henrietta parking lot.

They are wanted in connection to the April death of Frank Bligh, 72, in Tuscon. His house was set on fire and his car was stolen in April.

The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office said late Wednesday it assisted the U.S. Marshals in the capture of the Barksdales and that they were arrested and taken into custody without incident.
