Two Monroe County Sheriff's deputies were hurt arresting two men trying to get away after they were stealing from a store in Perinton.
Deputies were called to the CVS on Route 31F just before 10 p.m. Wednesday when store employees noticed the men had taken some Red Bull.
Deputies spotted the car on Route 250. The driver, Matthew Wheaton, 28, of Ontario, ran off. He was arrested a short time later and faces petit larceny and obstruction charges.
The passenger in the car, James Graham, 30, of Rochester, struggled with deputies, jumped into the driver's seat and took off.
A deputy suffered a minor facial injury in the struggle.
Graham ran out of gas in Fairport and was caught trying to run away again. Another deputy suffered a minor hand injury.
Graham faces multiple charges, including robbery and assault. He remains in police custody.
Both deputies were treated and released.
