Snow, wind, or rain, nothing stops postal workers from doing their job — that includes Friday's excessive heat and humidity.

An area safety captain, Brett Hackett, stresses hydration and frequent breaks to his team. Luckily, many homeowners are willing to offer an assist.

"We definitely got those awesome customers that throw a cooler out there and offer that, which is great," said Hackett. "If we can find a sprinkler, we're going through it, I've had customers drench me with their hose. There's definitely some great people that we work with."

The excessive heat warning will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday.
