The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has identified the body pulled from Irondequoit Bay earlier this month.

Trevor Reed, 27, of Henrietta drowned in the bay on April 14. He was last seen canoeing with friends on April 13.

The body was discovered by members of a scuba team during the search for a 27-year-old Henrietta man who disappeared when his canoe overturned.

Deputies said he was with two friends about 100 feet off Stony Point Marina when the canoe flipped Saturday.

The victim's friends were able to swim back to shore and call for help.

Deputies said life vests were inside the canoe at the time of the incident, but no one was wearing them.

Several agencies assisted in the search, including the Coast Guard and the New York State Police.
