One Livingston County catering company took its service of food a step further Saturday, for the second year in a row.

Partyman Catering had 141 boxes, filled to the brim with 36 bags of macaroni, which is enough food to feed over 30,000 people.

“What better way to give back to the community, being in the food business, [than] to supply meals to people less fortunate than us,” said Owner of Partyman Catering Joe Yantachka.

The ingredients provided by the Outreach Program was put together into meals by Partyman Catering and more than 100 volunteers. The meals will go to over 20 food banks in the area.

“I don’t think any of us are truly aware of how needy people are for meals," Yantachka said. "And unfortunately we take a lot of that for granted and, unbeknownst to us, it feels good to give back and be able to supply that.”

The meals were all prepared in less than three hours.

“It doesn’t sound possible. Quite frankly it blows my mind every time and I’ve done hundreds of these,” said Regional Director Ted Swartwood said.

In addition to giving back it also enables people to work as a unit.

“You’re bringing a big community together to help people in their community," Swartwood said. "It’s truly a wonderful thing.”
