Interim Rochester City School District Superintendent Dan Lowengard is expected to return to work this week after being hospitalized from a collapse. 

It happened during a meeting Monday with local principals at the district's central office, according to Rochester Teachers Association President Adam Urbanski.

Lowengard previously served as interim superintendent in 2016 but stepped down after suffering a stroke.

District officials say he is feeling betterand in good spirits. He's expected to be released from the hospital on Wednesday and will return to work shortly after.
