One person has died from the flu this season, according to the Monroe County Health Department.

A report shows as of February 2, 2019, there have been 881 lab-confirmed flu cases. More than 100 of those patients required hospitalization.

The patient who passed away was between the ages 50 and 64-years-old.

Last year, there were more than 3,000 cases and nine deaths.

Health officials are tracking the virus across the state. There's still time to get vaccinated.
