Dozens of fire departments from Long Island to Buffalo are taking part in some fun this weekend at the 14th Annual Winter Games.

Teams wear their full turnout gear in events like tubing, tug of war, and hose relays. The games are all about training and teamwork.

Organizers say it helps departments get to know each other outside the scene of a fire.

"There's a lot of high stress in the role that our emergency responders have. So any opportunity we can have to take the stress down a bit, have some fun and bring people together," said Doug VanEtten, organizer.

"It's been cold a little bit of snow, but It's a blast, guys are having a great time It's a good bonding experience," said St. James Fire Department Captain Daniel Keegan.

The first Winter Games were held in Lake Placid.
