The weather was no problem for dozens of hockey teams who descended on the Rochester area on Saturday.

The city hosted the Empire State Cup Hockey Tournament this weekend.

Fifty teams from across the country and even a few from Canada came to compete at the Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex.

"We were going to travel back and forth but we decided on the way here due to the weather and the advisories to stay overnight because we're here all day tomorrow anyways,” said Brenda Ackley of Buffalo. “It's expected so we don't think anything is going to happen but just in case we want to be here on time anyway for the games."

Officials said the economic impact of the tournament is close to half a million dollars.
