Rochester City Council met Tuesday to discuss its proposal for a police accountability board.

Council members stress this is still a work in progress.

They hope to have legislation done to vote on next month.

Until then, they're asking for members of the public to come to meetings and voice their opinions.

"This is a community-driven board, so it's members of the community. We're looking for folks who live in neighborhoods that maybe have been heavily policed, where there have some police-community relation issues in the past. So, this is a board that will be constituted by the community,” said Mitch Gruber, city council member.

City council will hold public hearings for the proposal on January 23, 28 and 31.
