Glacier Ridge Sports Park is closed following the destruction left from Tuesday’s wind storm. An emotional Doug Miller arrived to the park to find his Indoor Sports Dome completely collapsed.

“It’s not going to be a quick fix if something that going to happen in a weeks’ time,” he said. “It just kind of knowing that God works all things for the good and he’s got a plan and kind of take one step at a time without rushing into anything.”

It’s the busiest time of the year for the former Rhinos player, who spent the morning saving any equipment he could, calling insurance adjusters and working quickly to find a place for his youth soccer clubs to play.

“All the kids that we have in our program and the clubs that rent from us, we have to facilitate some kind of training,” he said.

Miller wasn’t alone Tuesday as employees showed their support by helping to clean up equipment and light fixtures throughout the day.

“We’re like a family, we put a lot of blood sweat and tears into here and people realize that,” he said. “Now it’s us trying to rebuild and make it better.”

For the time being, the facility is in a holding pattern.

The dome, which is home to several indoor soccer leagues, is working to provide alternate training facilities for its members.

First responders had a busy night tracking dozens of reports of trees and wires down.

In Rochester, a tree collapsed onto a home on Penhurst Drive. It caused some minor damages to the house and part of it also fell onto a car.
