Faculty and staff at Monroe Community College gathered Thursday to make their concerns over embattled President Anne Kress heard.

The rally outside of MCC’s main entrance in Brighton comes after a public comment session during a board meeting last week.  Demonstrators tell Spectrum News they’re being overlooked by the Board of Trustees after a vote of no-confidence.

“They came in with a pre-made resolution that said they had full confidence in Anne Kress even before they investigated any of the 68 issues on our resolution,” said MCC Faculty Association member, John Wadach.

“We want there to be changes, particularly we want an evaluation of President Kress and her leadership team that includes feedback from the people that report to them,” said MCC Faculty Association President, Bethany Gizzi.

We reached out to the board for comment.

The college responded in a statement, saying:

“It is our policy to not interfere with orderly demonstrations on college property, as long as there are no violations of law or college policies, and no disruption of college operations.”
