BATAVIA, N.Y. — A Batavia High School senior appeared in court Monday after being arrested for stabbing his classmate.

Bail was increased for Antwan Odom. Batavia Police believe he stabbed his football teammate Raymond Leach after the two got into an argument Saturday on Ross Street.

Police reports say that an altercation between the two classmates turned violent after Leach accused Odom of stealing his property.

Leach was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds and has since been released.

Odom has been charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He also has another felony pending for aggravated DWI in the Town of Sweden.

A judge increased Odom’s bail from $15,000 cash bail to $50,000 citing the seriousness of the crime. According to the MaxPreps website, Leach and Odom are both seniors on the Batavia High School football team.

An order of protection has been issued against Leach by the defense. Odom is due back in court Thursday. He is being held at the Genesee County Jail.
