WILLIAMSON N.Y. — A Williamson woman lost her husband in a deadly crash in Penfield Friday morning.

“He got up for work that morning and he always gives me a kiss on my cheek and I felt it, but I didn’t wake up,” says grieving wife Chelsea Covey of Williamson.

At 7:02 a.m. the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision on Route 441 in the town of Penfield between Harris and Salt Road.

A minivan, traveling eastbound suddenly swerved into the next lane colliding head-on with a pickup truck heading westbound.

Jason Covey, 33, was the pickup truck driver. He died at Strong Memorial Hospital about an hour later.

As friends and family have provided support for her and her two kids 9-year-old Olivia and 7 month-old Logan during this difficult time, she says she is grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.

“I can’t thank the community enough right now for all of their donations that they have made. It’s overwhelming,” Chelsea says.

Through a GoFundMe account set up for the family, the money collected will go towards funeral expenses in addition to the much needed support to the Coveys.
