Families, teachers, leaders and staff of East Upper & Lower schools were given a look Thursday at the achievements and highlights under the University of Rochester serving as the educational partnership organization.
The gathering also included an open house a the East Main Street site.
For two years the school has been managing and supporting the “new” East.
Supporters say a lot has happened in that time.
“A decrease in the number of suspensions, a decrease in the number of physical altercations within the building, an increase in the number of scholars who are moving on from grade 9 to grade 10.. a support system and relation building between our scholars and our teachers. We have a support period that helps our scholars be successful in their classes throughout the day," Lorna Washington, an administrator with RCSD.
