ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Monroe County District Attorney's Office asserts that court paperwork recently filed outlines what Laura Rideout, whose estranged husband Craig was found dead in Yates County in July, was allegedly doing the night before Craig disappeared.

Police believe Craig Rideout was strangled inside his Penfield townhouse and chemicals were poured on his face, and then, his body was taken to the town of Jerusalem and dumped there.

No one has been charged in Craig's death, but Laura Rideout, 45, is charged with tampering with evidence and burglary.

The prosecutor's request to obtain a DNA sample from Laura was approved by a county court judge. In that motion, according to the DA's office, Laura and her boyfriend were seen at the Hudson Avenue Walmart purchasing a tarp, bungee cords and heavy drain cleaner.

A similar sized tarp and bungee cords were found with Rideout's body not even 12 hours later, prosecutors allege.

Laura is accused of going to Craig's New Wickham Drive townhome and concealing, altering or destroying blood evidence. Deputies allege that bottles of drain cleaner used to remove the blood were later found dumped in Mendon Ponds Park.

The couple's two sons, Alex and Colin, are also charged with tampering.

Laura, Alex and Colin have all posted bail in the meantime.
