ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Rochester's Faith Temple hosted their fifth annual Big Give event Saturday.

The free event was open to the public, meant as a way of giving back to the community.

Participants were able to fill two bags with clothing, household items, baby products, food and other necessities.

There were no eligibility requirement organizers saying they just hope the event can help individuals and families who might be struggling to make ends meet.

"We feel like this is the mission of the church, we are to reach people for Christ and part of the message of the gospel is to bless people and pour into their creature needs as well as their spiritual needs,' associate pastor Mark Kaiser said.

Each child in attendance also received a brand new backpack stocked with school supplies.
