ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The final day Lilac Festival is wrapping up after a very busy week.

Sunday's Lilac Festival attendees experienced almost all four seasons today with sun, rain and even some hail, but it's not stopping die hard festival fans to come out and enjoy the music, food and vendors.

Festival organizers say this year's attendance was pretty on par with previous years. They say the weather this past week definitely impacted the numbers.

Last Saturday, one of the nicest days of the festival, they saw a record breaking number of about 130,000 people in one day.

They say the new events, like the Lilac Brew Fest, wine tasting and especially the home and garden show were a hit.

"It worked out real well," Lilac Festival Producer Jeff Springnut said. "We had about 40 vendors in there and we combine that with some celebrities. This year we had the fellas from 'Tanked,' the TV show on the Animal Planet and those guys were great, big personalities, physically big guys and big personalities, and they drew a lot of people for the home and garden show. We're going to continue tradition again next year and see who might be appropriate for the home and garden show."

Sunday, organizers will choose the winner for the Delta Airlines photo sweepstakes. The winner will receive two plane tickets to anywhere in the US.

Vision Automotive Group will also present a check to Golisano Children's Hospital. Festival goers donated a dollar or two to dip their hands in paint and put it on a large hope sign.

Rochester singer-songwriter Joe Brucato performed Shine, an inspirational ballad about the fight against cancer, featuring the Pittsford Sutherland High School chorus.

And as far as next year, organizers say they will still be wrapping up this festival for about a month and then they will begin planning for next year.
