PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- As of Sunday, area students from elementary through high school will have an extra place to study and learn.
Brighton tutoring company, Straight-A-Coaching, has opened the area's first Homework House.
The company hopes the new Pittsford facility will help meet individual students' needs in exam preparation and their daily work.
They say right now, their 23 tutors and academic coaches see more than 100 students from around the county each week.
"The teachers are teaching at school, but not every student utilizes the same strategy, right?" said Ardis Mangione-Lindley, Founder of Straight A Coaching. "So we have to figure out what their strategies are, what's going to make them successful and what's going to make them do well in school. In order to do that, it takes a little finnessing, a little individualized attention."
The Homework House is located on State Street in Pittsford.
