ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The fire at Buckingham Commons Sunday morning was called in by a firefighter who saw smoke while returning from another fire on Smith Street in the city.

The vacant home caught fire just after 6 o'clock. Firefighters had a tough time getting into the boarded up home and had to break in through a door. They were able to get the fire under control within minutes. The house had no power connected at the time that could have caused the fire, so investigators are calling the fire suspicious.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
