ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Monroe County legislature approved the new lease agreement with the Rochester Red Wings Tuesday night. It came just a day after the two sides announced an agreement about the AAA team's future at Frontier Field.

The Red Wings will pay $100,000 per month directly to the county. An intermediary stadium operator was dissolved as part of the new ten year agreement, with an option to renew for another decade.

The county says there will be a public hearing on the approved lease before it can be officially signed by County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo. No word yet when that public meeting will be held.

The county legislature also approved labor deals with some first responders.

Legislators approved a new collective bargaining agreement with the Deputy Sheriff's Association, which represents about 450 jail and civil deputies. It's one of four unions representing sheriff's deputies.

The new deal sets wages and benefits for all of the association's members. Deputies will also receive healthcare coverage through Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield's Blue Point Two Value Two Plan.  The new labor deal runs through the end of 2022.

The legislature also approved a new collective bargaining agreement with the Airport Firefighters Association.

That agreement sets wages for about two dozen firefighters and guarantees a pay raise every year for the next five years. They'll also receive health care coverage from Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield. That labor deal also runs through the end of 2022.
