ROCHESTER, N.Y. — There were wedding bells at Strong Memorial Hospital Saturday as one care team helped one lucky couple.

Jim Kaska and Melinda Jones were planning on getting married this week, but Kaska was taken to the hospital and is waiting for a heart transplant.

So their care team at the Cardiac ICU helped the couple say, "I do."

Spectrum News spoke to the newlywed husband about the wedding this past week.

"They really didn't have to do a thing, just provide us some space. But they actually went through the decorations and got me a shirt and a tie and I had only been in this unit for two days. So if that's how they care for their patients, I'm in good hands,” said Kaska.
