Rochester's Puerto Rican community is celebrating its culture in a different way after the pandemic postponed the annual Puerto Rican Festival.

Dozens came out to the first annual Puerto Rican car parade.

They drove from Frontier Field's parking lot up through the North Clinton neighborhood, ending at Charlotte Beach, celebrating their heritage. One parade goer came from Buffalo just to celebrate.

"I like doing stuff like this, like literally. I enjoy having parade, joining everybody, having a good time, meeting new people and letting them know where I'm from," said Emmanuel Vega of Buffalo.

Rochester's Puerto Rican Festival hopes to make a return in August 2021.
