In a matchup of Section V Class A1 baseball, Irondequoit visited three-time defending champion Canandaigua.

Senior pitcher Michael Sculli took the mound for the Braves and was coming off back-to-back no hitters. He had another strong performance, going for six innings, allowing just one hit and striking out 11. 

Irondequoit's Nick Serse also pitched well, allowing just one hit and striking out nine.

The game was scoreless until the seventh inning when the Eagles had runners on first and second. Junior Chad Gartland hit a grounder to third and beat the play to first, allowing Jaleel Davis to score giving Irondequoit the 1-0 lead.

On in relief of Serse, Gartland got the strikeout to end the game.

Irondequoit won 1-0. They're 7-3 on the season. Canandaigua is 7-1.
