If you're looking for the best place to live in New York State, you don't have to look far.

The town of Amherst represents New York in Money Magazine's "Best Places to Live in Every State."

The magazine's ranking is based on the local economy, cost of living, diversity, education, and crime.

The Western New York town has a population of 122,000 and it checks off all the right boxes.

"Our daytime population swells to 188,000 and that's because a lot of people are coming to work and live and be educated," said Brian Kulpa, Amherst Town Supervisor.

The Money Magazine ranking came right before the closing ceremony for the town's bicentennial.

The 200th Anniversary of the Town's creation was celebrated throughout the year with various events.
