ROCHESTER, N.Y. — RTS will be helping get students to class at five RCSD schools starting Monday.

The move comes as the district continues to address a severe bus driver shortage. The high school students at those schools were working remotely the first couple days of the new semester last week.

This will temporarily impact several RTS bus routes listed below:

• 3 Joseph
• 4 Hudson
• 5 Portland
• 8 East Main
• 11 Monroe
• 16 Genesee
• 22 Lake

Those routes will change from having 15-minute service to 30-minute service on weekdays. More information can be found here.

District Superintendent Lesli Myers-Small says leaders continue to meet daily about the transportation issue and are working to consolidate bus runs and get updates from private bus providers on recruitment and training efforts.
