IEC Electronics in Newark is expanding its workforce by four dozen to manage demand during the coronavirus pandemic.
IEC develops medical electronics, including frontline tools like drug delivery systems and surgical navigation gear.
Jeff Schlarbaum, president and CEO of IEC Electronics, says the company is also contributing to the production of ventilators.
"Our current product mix that we're making, we're seeing 10, 20, 30 percent volume increases in some of the current products we're manufacturing but there are some aspects of the ventilator ramp up that maybe we're not building the entire device itself but we're building subsystems and we're in talks with companies where we'll be able to build subsystems for them," said Schlarbaum.
